The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) which went into effect on July 1, 2020, to replace NAFTA has been proven a success. Its goal is to allow for more balanced, reciprocal trade to grow the North American economy.
Although successful for many, it's important for companies to work with experienced cross-border carriers, like CFI, to avoid any snags in the process. Greg Orr, CFI President, explains to Logistics Management Magazine that "communication, trailer balance and security are keys with our carrier partners... we work collaboratively to ensure we understand the customer's requirements." Extensive work moving goods into, through, and out of Mexico has allowed CFI to develop a series of best practices for shippers in north-south moves.
