CFI Hosts Press Conference with Missouri Officials to Discuss Forward 44 Program

On Monday, March 18, CFI (Contract Freighters, Inc.) hosted a press conference in collaboration with Missouri State Representative Cody Smith and Patrick McKenna, Director of Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), to shed light on the Forward 44 Program. This initiative, fueled by Missouri’s FY2024 budget allocation from the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Parson, earmarked $20 million of General Revenue for an extensive environmental study spanning over 250 miles of the I-44 corridor. The study aims to assess the current state and future needs of this vital transportation artery stretching from the Oklahoma state line to the Franklin County/St. Louis County line.

"The freeways are becoming more congested, and it's definitely different behind the wheel," remarked Marcus Edwards, CFI's Vice President of Recruiting, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure development in addressing growing congestion challenges.

The Forward 44 Program represents a critical step in the preparation for future projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and safety of the I-44 corridor.
