CFI Receives US EPA 2017 SmartWay Excellence Award

Award Recipients are Top Environmental Performers and Leaders for Freight Supply Chain Efficiency

Joplin, Mo. – Oct. 26, 2017 – CFI, a North American full-truckload carrier and division of TFI International Inc., was honored this week with a SmartWay® Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an industry leader in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency. The Excellence Awardees were honored at the American Trucking Associations (ATA) Management & Exhibition Annual Conference held in Orlando, Florida on Oct. 23, 2017.

CFI was one of 62 companies to receive this distinction, representing the best environmental performers of SmartWay’s 3,600 partners. “At CFI, we are working hard to reduce the company’s environmental footprint by promoting cleaner and more efficient transportation strategies that contribute to reduced emissions while remaining profitable for our customers,” said Tim Staroba, President, CFI.

A sustainability leader utilizing full aerodynamics on tractors and trailers, CFI maintains an EPA- and CARB-compliant fleet as well as MPG goals. The company has been a recognized winner of the SmartWay Excellence Award for six of the last 11 years (2006, 2007, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017).
