CFI associates recently went on a "shopping spree" for CFI's 29th annual Truckload of Treasures holiday giving campaign. Associates arrived at Joplin’s 15th Street Walmart store with shopping lists in hand and bought hundreds of gifts, goods, and other living supplies for over 300 underserved local children and seniors. This year the $41,000 annual total raised by the program brought the 29-year total to $1,001,000 donated by CFI associates.
Donations are raised through a company-wide raffle in which employees buy tickets and vie for prizes, including a grill, gift cards for retailers such as Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot, VISA cash cards, mystery cash, and other prizes. All prizes were purchased and donated by CFI's executive management team.
Recipients of the holiday gift-giving campaign were recommended by the Joplin Salvation Army, which conducted a community outreach effort to identify and qualify local underserved children and seniors in need.
In addition, seven local charities will also receive check donations from the fundraiser, Ronald McDonald House of the Four States, Children’s Haven, Area Agency on Aging Region X, Camp Quality, Boys and Girls Club SWMO, DAV (Disabled American Veterans) chapter 52 and Joplin Humane Society.
